Antiquity shows us Jewish soldiers and sometimes even generals in the Roman legions. Medieval warfare has notable jewish soldiers mostly in Iberia and Southern Europe. But in Western and Central Europe, there are few examples of Jewish arms and armor. Are any known, say in the Holy Roman Empire?

In the 19th century armies often lived off the land in order to speed up their movement compared to relying on slow supply wagons. If a foreign army pillaged a farmers food, what if any assistance was given to the victims? Either by the invading army, the community, or the farmers own nation.
